Pasture-raised+ eggs straight from AyAy Farms on St. Croix's south shore! These happy hens have plenty of access to fresh pasture to forage for themselves and are given a supplemental diet of Organic chicken feed.
While not certified Organic, AyAy Farms practice of supplementing with Organic feed on ample pasture raises the bar of what is considered "pasture-raised" or "organic" within accepted agricultural guidelines, so we're calling it Pasture-Raised+. Studies have shown that eggs produced in this manner are higher in Omega 3's and vitamin D. Additionally, raising happy hens on ample pasture provides a humane way to allow them to do what they do best!
AyAy farms raises chickens and sheep in an intensive rotational grazing system to regenerate the fertility of the land, prevent diseases within their animals and to produce some really high quality food!
